The Spanish lighters are considered particularly sustainable on the international market. This is primarily due to the material used in their construction. A nylon blend is used in their manufacture, consisting of approximately 30% recycled materials. Even this recycled material is only needed in smaller quantities during production. This results in a considerable saving of raw materials in the production of Clipper lighters. Despite their sustainable manufacturing, the lighters are extremely robust and durable. They can withstand drops from significant heights and extreme temperatures. To make the lighters even more sustainable, almost all parts of the Clipper are replaceable. In addition to the refillable fuel (in this case, butane gas), parts such as the flint or even the entire ignition system are replaceable. The ignition pin can be easily removed from the Clipper, making replacement particularly simple.
