Digital Transfer Printing (DTF)
Flexible. Versatile. Modern.
Direct-to-film (DTF) printing is a modern textile printing process in which the design is first printed onto a special film and then transferred to the fabric using heat . DTF is particularly suitable for various types of fabric , vibrant colors, and highly detailed designs.
What is digital transfer printing (DTF)?
In the DTF process, the design is not printed directly onto the fabric , but first onto a transfer film. An adhesive layer is then applied, and the design is transferred to the garment using a heat press.
The result is an even, opaque print that adheres reliably to many materials.
This is how the DTF process works
-
The image is prepared digitally.
-
Print on special transfer film
-
Applying the adhesive powder
-
Drying / Fixing
-
Transfer to the textile using heat and pressure
-
Removing the foil – finished print
This process allows for high flexibility in materials and designs.

DTF vs. other printing methods
| Proceedings | Fabric variety | durability | Haptics |
|---|---|---|---|
| DTF | Very high | Good | Noticeably |
| Digital printing DTG | Medium | Medium | Very soft |
| screen printing | Medium | Very high | Noticeably |
DTF is ideal when different fabrics need to be printed.
