What are enamel pins made of?
Enamel pins usually consist of a metal base such as zinc alloy, brass, or iron. The colors are created by colored enamel that is poured into the metal surfaces.
What is the difference between soft enamel and hard enamel pins?
Soft enamel pins have noticeable indentations between the metal and the paint and appear slightly more textured.
Hard enamel pins are polished after coloring and are completely smooth – they look particularly high-quality.
How durable are enamel pins?
Very durable. Thanks to the metal base and hardened enamel, they are robust and colorfast. With normal use, enamel pins last for many years.
Can enamel pins rust?
With proper manufacturing and coating, enamel pins do not rust. Nevertheless, prolonged contact with water should be avoided to protect the surface.
How do you attach an enamel pin?
The most common closures are:
- Butterfly clasp (metal)
- Rubber plugs
- Safety lock
They are attached to the back of the pin and hold it securely to clothing or accessories.
