When ironing, play it safe: Newer irons may have a coating that doesn't adhere to the print. But trying it out is rather impractical in this case. So either iron around the print, turn it inside out , and iron from the reverse side! A good home remedy is to cover the print with a tablecloth before ironing... then nothing can go wrong.
